Welcome to Caldera High School!

Welcome students and families to Caldera High School, home of the Wolfpack!

I am excited for you to join us as we continue to build onto Bend's newest comprehensive high school. We are in the middle of Year 5 at Caldera. We continue on with our focus on PURPOSE and BELONGING. Our staff works to design learning experiences that are highly relevant through connected opportunities within our local community.

Our hands-on, project-based approach ensures that students are ready for their future pursuits. In our core programs, students engage in science instruction that begins with physics and chemistry and then progresses to biology and future lab-based experiences. Our applied mathematics and connected learning experiences across the humanities further ensure that students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive.

We are excited to host a strand of the district's Dual Immersion Program here at Caldera High School! We believe the skills, abilities, and confidence that this dual language model develops in our Spanish- and English-speaking students will be invaluable to them as future-ready community members.

We launched our new school with Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, including Health Sciences, Engineering and Design, Construction, Entrepreneurship. Over the past four years, we have expanded our CTE offerings to now include Computer Sciences and Graphic Arts. Our music and theater programs as well as world languages provide opportunities for students to develop their voice and explore their passions. Students in our performing arts program are now competing at state level competitions and being recognized for their excellence in the arts.

Caldera offers the same Varsity and Junior Varsity athletic programs as Bend Senior High, Mt. View High School, Summit High School, and La Pine High School.  We have had several teams and individuals compete at the state level meets in Oregon, including State Champion Campbell McKean in Men’s Swimming. With all the challenges that came with learning and leading through a pandemic, I am most excited to share with you our commitment to your social, emotional, and mental health needs. We continue to need each other more than ever. We are at our best when we come together and celebrate the diversity of voices and interests within our school community.

Caldera prioritizes belonging, safety, and relationships as our foundation, knowing that learning and future success are built upon this groundwork. Our leadership team, counselors, teacher-leaders, and coaches look forward to working with you as we make Caldera High School a new pillar of our community and a home to generations of learners and leaders for years ahead.
